Working fire in Calumet Park, 6-7-22

This from Mike Lopina:

Just after 1300 hours on Tuesday, June 7th, Calumet Park and auto aid companies were toned out for a fire at 127th & Justine. Chief 2200 arrived with smoke coming from the rear of a 1-sty, 20×20 office/utility room attached to a 35×70, 3-sty, ordinary apts over store. Cal Park Truck 2224 arrived soon after, led out to the rear and put the main to the roof. Garden Homes, Marionette Park, Robbins, Alsip engines and a Posen ambulance assisted along with Riverdale’s acting chief and a Marionette Park deputy chief. Riverdale and Blue Island had to take passes.

With the mention of Garden Homes lately in another post, it was interesting to see them arrive second to this fire ahead of everyone else and go right to work.

This building had been rehabbed after a significant fire 6 or 7 years ago.

Ottawa Fire Department photo

Excerpts from shawlocal.com:

The Ottawa Fire Department put its new ambulance — Medic 6 — into service earlier this month. Just Thursday, the Ottawa Firefighters Local 523 reported Medic 6, Medic 8, and Engine 2 staffed with seven first responders firefighters answered 33 emergency calls in a 24-hour span.

The Ottawa City Council approved the $251,950 ambulance purchase in January. It replaced one with high mileage.
