I said pretty much the same thing in another post but what would be so bad to have an optional tag axle? No need for another drive axle just enough to take the extra weight and provide extra braking power. Over the road buses(like an MCI J4500) have that as standard equipment.

Too much weight on a single axle frame. I believe that it’s not even a full frame either. You could get more bang for your buck if you buy a used Mack or Pirsch and re build. Pierce has been junk since Oshkosh trucks bought them out.

I’m with Big Moe. The Ass-endit is tactically useless as a tower ladder. It’s a shame that so many departments are being suckered into buying these.

however if this is what they are buying i hope at least they run this out of headquarters and the 17 pierce be moved to second station and the 2006 engine could be a spare it is a shame they dont get an eone metro 100 sa rm or just get this old tower refurb

Pierce derangement syndrome. Fire Chiefs are so mesmerized by the name plate they fail to see the flaws in their decision to purchase these vehicles. The quint theory has been disproven by so many departments of the past, it’s a shame they are buying into it in Brookfield.
