Mike, where do you think Des Plaines should place a 4th Fire Station? What are some of the geographical issues Des Plaines has?

Harry and crabby I have to side with Chuck on this. Going from 2 trucks to 1 truck is a huge reduction in service. Both trucks are needed as also a 4th firehouse is needed. The chief there came from a 1 firehouse twin that doesn’t have the call volume or geographical issues des plaines has. It already showed in December with the fatal fire. The engine and ambulance that arrived first was overwhelmed because the reduction of 2 less people with no truck there. So there were forced to do fire attack and search and rescue at the same time. This isn’t about who’s dick is bigger. This is about showing what happens when you reduce service and change the way you operate from a system that works to something everyone told the management wasn’t going to work. It doesn’t matter how good it looks on paper or how many degrees you have on the wall. If the guys who have spent their entire career there say it won’t work, it won’t work. A squad like this would be a great addition as squad 64 should they open a station 4 and have engine and truck 63 back. A squad is no where near comparable to a truck.

Riverside has an older seagrave front line truck as does western Springs.

Come on Chuck why do you have to talk that way? There are a lot of people I don’t like in leadership in Milwaukee but I would never wish them ill or their property burn down.

And it’ll show up with what, 2 guys? Maybe 3? They can park it next to the fire building and throw a portable ladder off the roof maybe. Maybe we’ll get lucky and it’ll be a house belonging to one of the idiot administrators that made the poor decision to get rid of the truck.

Nice rig, still isn’t going to take the place of tower 63.

Those could be those new painted aluminum wheels. Again, I see a trend in moving away from chrome. Yes, it does look sharp that way. The MARS light is a nice touch.
