My response was to Chicagoland, not sure why I said Michael. ?????

Michael, the rig sale companies just photoshop out the identifiers off the photos.

Do they have 2 snorkels because there is a snorkel that looks exactly like that that has full markings

The Snorkel is still in service; as it is going on Cicero’s 2-11.

Chris, the certification of the ladders was done in 2016, so I am guessing there is something wrong with the snorkel.
Im surprised the ground ladders are coming with it. Wondering if they are up to code.

We are getting out of snorkels. It is being sold as surplus. Nothing on order to replace it. The maintenance is nickel and diming us to death.

What’s wrong with the truck ? Picture wise it looks to be in excellent shape. Also what are they replacing it with ?

The city of chicago auctions it’s surplus equipment and vehicles constantly throughout the year. The site is PublicSurplus.com everything is on a bid process and goes to the highest bidder. However I must say 98% of our vehicles being surpluses are far past end of life. We use rigs well past the norm. Most are sold for scrap metal.

Does anyone know where Chicago sells their working Fire Apparatus?
Is there one auction a year? Do they use an online broker?
Thanks

Sure Harry it does look great but we don’t know the overall condition of the thing. Sometimes the cost of a complete rehab is way more than replacement.

Good luck getting the $110,000.

it is a shame they did not have a complete rehab on this

Does anyone know if they have another snorkel on order? This would make a nice truck for a small department
