The Newport engines are close to the two round lake engines. Round lake has bought 2 engines from custom fab a 2015 and 2019. Both are 1250 pumps and 800 gallon tanks, with a top mounted pump. The Newport engines are a bit longer because of the bigger tanks and are side mounted pumps.

The body of their engines is built by Custom Fab & Body out of Marion, WI. I believe the last engine Round Lake purchased was also built by them. The Quantum is now their squad, it’s labeled as 1458. I do not know if they kept the Rosenbauer as a reserve or not.

Appears to be a SPARTAN and CUMMINS is the sole engine option.

Who’s the manufacturer of this engine?

Mabas 21 you’re not too far off, the former round Lake chief is a deputy now at Newport and was involved spec’ing-the engines. The quantum is still a decent rig (for its age), I rode that rig almost 20 years ago when I worked at Libertyville for a brief time. The main problem with that engine for Newport is it’s only a 500 gallon tank and not nearly the compartment space compared to the new engines. I believe they’re going to keep it as a specialty unit as it carries 5000 feet of 5 inch and has a 2000 GPM pump.Between the tollway, Route 41 and the majority of their district being non-hydranted in the 1500 gal tank is really a necessity, showing up with 3000 gallons on your first two engines is a nice thing to have. Their initial response will bring about 8000gallons of water to a fire even before pulling a tender box.

I like the red stripes on the bumper. Nice change from yellow.

Other than the color scheme and larger body, they look very similar to Round Lake’s engines.
