I have never seen such an impressive send off of a battalion chief as depicted in that photo taken outside of Engine 14’s house. Was Chief Maloney one of the original 515 Special Operations Battalion Chiefs? I know they have only been around since the early to mid 2000’s.
When Chicago began their Special Operations section they were really following the FDNY’s lead which assigned rescue companies to their Special Operations Bureau years earlier.
