Matt and Crabby, thank you so much for the suggestions! I will start the hunt for them.

I would recommend two to start by Walt McCall –
Fire Engines since 1900 (Crestline Publishing – originally issued in the 1970’s and was reprinted at least once)
Encyclopedia of American Fire Equipment – Iconografix?; published as a hard cover or soft cover early 2007 -2010 ish?
Both have a wealth of information and pictures; much Chicago area stuff in the first book
Then; Iconografix had their photo archive series dedicated to specific brands or models and later full histories. Good if you want to learn more.
All are out of print but do show up at flea markets and ebay regularly

His first one from 1975 is almost a must have. His other one’s are good too.

John and/or Crabby, is there a particular book he published that is worth getting, or trying to find over others?

Can’t say enough about that book. His book is what really got me interested in fire apparatus when I bought it in the early ’80’s.

It’s on page 218 of Walt McCall’s book. Originally had whitewall tires!

Pretty. Way ahead of it’s time being a fully closed sedan cab.
