mike c out of the 33 states I have been to in the last 4 years most of the fire rigs have had power windows power locks and most even have front and side airbags
and also mike c when franklin pk il got the 2 twin engines in 2013 it was very cold and roads were salty and I asked the bc and ff can I was the rig in the station and they said under one condition don’t bother us while we eat I said ok I know where the soap rags bucket and so on are well 35 mins later the ff asked me am I done I said no I have not started because the window is down he said roll it up and I said I don’t know how to start the engine nor should I so he said roll them up I said they are pw and he said firetrucks don’t have pw and I said then show me where the window crank is and he said right oh there isn’t one and in the 200 plus depts. I hasve been too most have power windows so I am curious what depts. have rolldown windows I know fpfd does not nyc does not pk ridge does not niles does not so please tell me

Harry those must be the 5% you are seeing with power windows. I guess in the last 10 years you seen maybe 20 rigs that have power windows.

Apparently Harry Pederson hasn’t seen much for new apparatus. Manual windows are still very common.

well not to argue but every new fire rig I have seen in the last 10 years or so has had power windows

Harry about 95% of fire trucks have roll up windows, Power windows are an option and a added expense to a fire truck and if villages want to pay for it.

well that is something not seen too often nowadays is roll down windows
