By the time the later Spartan’s are due for replacement who knows what the city will buy. I seems that Chicago doesn’t stay consistent with their apparatus purchases anymore than just a few years. Currently, Chicago has multiple different builders in their fleet. Pierce, Seagrave, Rosenbauer, E-One, HME, Spartan, American LaFrance. I’m probably forgetting some too.

Chuck, also the truck companies are a mix of Pierce, Spartan/Crimson and older E-ONEs.

Chuck they have a mix right now. You can’t change a fleet that large, very fast. As the Spartan/Luvernes/HME get phased out they will be replaced with E-ONE. However that is a very long process.

Does the city run all E-Ones now other than the squads? If not doesn’t it make sense to stick with one manufacturer for maintenance and other issues?

In the last two photos it looks like the first one of the seven is nearing completion and is going through pump testing. I like the Chevron’s on the front bumper!
