When we had the flooding up here in the summer, Fox Lake and the Quad borrowed Minooka’s and it was put to use quite a few times.

Craig Mack – I can only assume this was obtained through the Federal Excess Personal Property program through Illinois DNR. My department participates in a similar program in Iowa. I googled FEPP program in Illinois and came up with contact information you could use. This program is specific to loaning surplus government property to fire departments to improve fire and emergency response. Tttle is retained by government and local department is responsible for repairs, alterations and repainting.

Thanks for the info! Wasn’t aware of the Minooka rig and didn’t see the Limestone rig.

If you look on this blog from September of this year, the Limestone Township Fire Protection District has a very similar unit, which they painted red and is available for MABAS Division 7.

How does a department go about getting one of these?

Minooka has a vehicle identical to this.

That is an awesome asset to have; especially up that way with the flooding that occurs. Des Plaines, for years, has had their flood rescue vehicle. Not aware of the south and southwest suburbs having anything like this. Heads up catch by the Quad 2 depts.
