Why does hp even need a truck if it’s only for mutual aid

Regarding the Deerfield Fire Department, my understanding is that Truck 20 and Ambulance 20 are jump companies. If Truck 20 is dispatched Ambulance 20’s 2-man crew jumps on the truck and Ambulance 20 goes out of service. If anyone is familiar with the this department please correct me if I’m wrong. Assuming that I’m right, does Ambulance 19 take in the fire as the first due ambulance or is a mutual aid ambulance dispatched into Deerfield?
If the above information is correct, what does Deerfield do if Ambulance 20 is on a run and a still alarm or Code 3 comes in. Do they request mutual aid or just wait for Ambulance 20 to go back in service and respond with Truck 20? I really hope this is incorrect and that the truck has dedicated staffing.
I also saw that Highland Park Truck 33 took in the fire when it was escalated to a working fire or a Code 4, so then Squad 33 went out of service and the crew took Truck 33 since it rarely (if ever) has it’s own dedicated crew, correct?
