currently the tower is being looked to be sold. This truck will replace the tower and squad company sometime in august. The 2003 enforcer will be moved to station 2 and replace the engine there. Once the truck is in service it will be run by 2 firefighter/paramedics and they will act as a jump company to the 2nd ambulance if another ambulance call comes in.

I’m pretty sure that this E-One Metro 100′ RM will serve just well. For those of you that don’t remember, the CFD had numerous 1982 Hendrickson/E-One 100 footers on a single rear axle along with a few Federal/E-One 100 footers also on a single rear axle which are still around and are a favorite workhorse. And Boston reverted back to these also. Wonder if CFD history will repeat itself…

What happened to the 2003 Pierce Enforcer that ran as the squad? Is it still there or was the squad moved to station 2?

I was wondering if this truck is supposed to replace the tower ladder, which in the photo I can see is still in the station. What are the plans for the tower ladder? Will it be sold or will it become a spare rig. Also does the truck in Schiller Park run with a dedicated crew or is it a jump company. Today there are too many fire departments that can’t afford to have dedicated staffing on the their trucks and squads so they are cross/manned.

Interesting how it only has one rear axle. It still turned out nice, it is a sharp looking truck!

Hopefully the weight won’t prove too much for just one.

E-one metro star. I think they’re offering a heavy duty ladder because it’s aluminum. No punp or tank. Just a straight truck.

Looks sharp but only one rear axle?
