For throwback Thursday here is Evergreen Park’s Engine 50, a 1972 Pirsch. How come Chicago never purchased any of this model? Enjoy and comment.Mike Summa

I believe it was 1000 GPM with a 500 gallon tank. This truck was featured on the cover of a Pirsch brochure shortly after completion. The turn signals and dual Mars lights were recessed in the trim below the windshield which was a first.
It is now privately owned and in the area and was in both the Evergreen Park and Mokena parades this week.

What’s the pump capacity on this PP? I’m guessing 750 based on only one 2 1/2 discharge at the panel. Just curious. EGP sure had an interesting array of rigs for a town of its size.

Niles ran Pirsch rigs for years. Their last two were the same model. Good reliable rigs.

Those were always distinct and sharp looking PIRSCH rigs.
Although Milwaukee was a solid PIRSCH customer for decades, they only had 2 1963 pumpers of that design. Like CFD, they seemed to fall in love with MACK in the late 60’s thru the 70’s.

Looks familiar. I think I saw this engine recently.. LOL 🙂 Mike do you know where this parade was and year? Pre 1989 for sure as she is still ‘chrome yellow’.
