This from Mike Summa:
Hello,On the Chicago Tribune web-site, I found an interesting photo slide-show that I would like to share. In the slide-show, there are pictures from the 1940s and 1950s of the Palos Heights Volunteer Fire Department. I enjoyed looking at this, and I thought that others might enjoy it also. Here is the linkThank you,Mike S.

I enjoyed reading this however there were two pictures from North Palos Fire Protection District in there. Those were good to see as well! Palos Heights and North Palos are separate entities.
