Saw pictures of the new Addison ambulances the other day. They look to be almost complete; don’t know which stations they are headed to.

When is the new Elmhurst truck due to be completed?

With so many departments sharing services to partially or fully consolidated departments, numbering can be difficult. MABAS has spearheaded much of this and I’m not saying it’s bad quite the contrary. Departments I have seen around here usually just one or more numbers to try to keep it the same. For example, Wauwatosa added the number five so now instead of engine 1, it’s now 51(no it’s not a WARD LaFRANCE). This is because Wauwatosa is considered Battalion 5 in the MABAS setup.

Why is it that departments have to be so difficult? Who is it going to hurt if they renumbered?

Isn’t that going to screw up the new DuComm numbering system, since right now, both Bartlett and Elmhurst have the same numbers? What’s the issue?

The new tower will be Tower 2, and it will be identical to the current Truck 1. As of now, both trucks will be running frontline. Also, Elmhurst will not be renumbering apparatus.

got it, thanks. will they be keeping the current truck 1 as reserve or continue to keep two truck companies in service?

It is replacing Truck 2, the straight stick.

Looking forward to seeing the new Elmhurst Tower! I’m assuming it will replace Truck 1?
