I visited the Wheaton FD this week to photograph the fleet. Here’s a profile of Station 2 (Station 39).

Doesn’t wheaton have a lot of commercial buildings? If so, then they have a good tax base and can afford to replace the rigs sooner.

I should have been more clear. The 2004 Crimson was replaced by the 2010 Pierce PUC Impel. That is what I thought was strange.

Unless I missed something here, 2004 is 11 years ago not 6. Here in Milwaukee, rigs often go into the reserve pen around age 10. Of course every dept. does things differently.

I always thought it was strange that the 2004 crimson got moved to a reserve piece so fast? I wonder why you would move a unit 6 years old to back up status???? I wonder if there is more to the story?

The dedication to the servicemen and women is just a humbling thing to see. Nice work Wheaton.
