Thanks Karl. Maybe the CFD should but it today!

The snorkel was not originally Rescue 1. It served as a truck company for many years and was located at various stations within the Orland Fire District. The Rescue 1 concept was done under Chief McCastland. Rescue 1 chased pretty much every run within the district. Soon after that, the rig was taken out of service as Rescue 1 and placed back in service as a truck, most recently serving as Truck Co. 2 before being taken oos as a fire company. A few years ago, the rig had some body work/paint done and somewhat restored back to its original look (as Josh’s photo shows) and serves for pub-ed events.

Thanks for the photos. The snorkel has a long history with Orland Park. It was originally Rescue 1, modeled after Chicago’s snorkel squads but with FDNY Rescue 1 style logos. Can anyone provide more history on the rig?
I always thought it was a shame that the CFD did not try and buy it as another spare for the squads. They sure could have used it over the past ten or more years.
