I was in Niles the other day at Station 2 when they were dispatched simultaneously on two separate EMS runs. Here’s a brief video showing the new Ambulance 2, the new Engine 2, and Tower 2 that went into service on 2/25/15.

Niles station numbers have been the same and the stations have been in the same location for at least 34 years. When I started in Prospect Heights in 1981 we had RED Center start performing our dispatching and those numbers were already being used by Niles. Niles Station 2 is on Dempster at Cumberland and Niles Station 3 is on Jarvis between Oak Park and Caldwell.

station 1 is now north maine

From pictures on this site, station 3 looks like it would be a better home for the truck. The bay doors look much higher than station 2. Is there a reason why they keep it at station 2 and decided against moving it to 3?

That looks pretty tight for the tower.
