Jason CFD has three 55′ snorkels assigned to squads 1, 2 and 5. RS1 is the only other snorkel (aside from a spare 55′) and is an 85′

It’s called out as a special at the discretion of the IC. It is often called on the 3-11 to avoid tying up another tower ladder.

So they have a RS1. But they do they have just a Snorkle 1, besides the squads?

Not sure but it’s true that it looks like they use it quite frequently, although it’s not automatic on any alarm I’d say that they use it on almost every 2-11 or above, but as far as I know it’s been like this for the last 10-15 years.

Living nowhere near Chicago, I have what may be a silly question, but is the Seagrave Snorkel being dispatched more frequently? It seems as if I am seeing more pictures of it on scene than in past years.
