The original engine was a Buda gas engine. Note that Buda engines were built in HARVEY and that Buda became part of the Allis Chalmers Company who then kept producing products in Harvey. Buda engines were extremely common alternatives to Waukesha and Hall-Scott Engines in custom fire apparatus and many commercial trucks in the early decades of the 1900’as

The Canteen being x-Third District. The old Third District is Division 24.

I was wondering about that if that was the original engine but I figured it was repowered several decades ago. Next time they can put a CUMMINS ISB with an ALLISON in that one. Just kidding but it would really go and pump with that combo.

Just a side note on the 29 ALF, sometime in the 1960’s/1970’s I believe the Allis-Chalmers company put a Inline 6-Cylinder diesel engine in it replace the original gas powered engine. You can see the exhaust stack coming out of the top of the rig near the hose reel.

Glad you updated that. I saw that ALF at the muster and rode in the HME. I forgot which one 664 or 665 but the PIERCE bucket was the one that was used to take people up. Nice view.
