The old Franklin Park eng 3 is no longer there. Yes, both are lettered 565, 1is front line, and 1 is reserve. There isn’t POC or callbacks to man the second engine. The reserve is only used when the frontline is OOS. The one Pierce (566) was sold because of numerous maintenance problems and design issues. The eone was purchased as a reliable reserve rig (low miles, solid body, great shape), but happens to be frontline due to the fact the other Pierce is having maintenance issues worked on. The original goal was to purchase a reliable reserve rig and hopefully purchase a new engine down the road…far down the road. Both Pierces were no longer on lease.

As of about 2 weeks ago, I saw the x-Schaumburg rig (also lettered 565 and the Pierce lettered 565 in River Grove’s house.

Reason why i’m asking is that franklin park’s
Old engine 3 has been at the river grove house
For quite some time now! Along with the x-
Schaumburg engine that they just bought!!

From what I read in another thread about River Groves rigs, the Pierce they sold had transmission problems and was on lease. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Why did River Grove sell the Pierce & go with something older?
