More on Sunday’s fire in a St. Charles home from the Daily Herald:
A St. Charles home was left uninhabitable after officials from seven different departments spent much of Sunday afternoon fighting a large fire there, authorities said.
At 12:29 p.m., St. Charles firefighters responded to a house fire on the 600 block of State Avenue and found heavy smoke coming from all three floors of the home, according to a news release. The home also reportedly doubled as a day-care facility.
Upon entry the fire was found on all three floors and the alarm was upgraded to a first level MABAS Box Alarm, which brought additional assistance to the scene.
