This from Josh Boyajian:
I stopped by 31st and Sacramento Monday and caught a new CFD ambulance that was delivered yesterday. Its a 2013 Ford Braun Ambulance with a F-350 chassis. It has the new Fed Sig Vision SRL light bar on it. Here is my picture
Update from Josh:
I’m being told that the ambulance sitting at the radio shops is a re-chassis from a previous unit that was wrecked. The new chassis is a Ford F-350 Power stroke diesel.

Did we ever find out which ambo this was or if it’s been assigned yet?

Anyone know what unit was wrecked in Chicago Fire a few episodes back. It was not CO50 as the wrecked one was a stand-in but had slightly different lighting package and a couple of other things.

Hey Drew, thanks for defending me against Mean Martin. I’m just a guy that likes rigs. I have no idea how to get pics of NEW GLENVIEW AMBULANCE 6. Do we just roll into the station & start snappin pics like a jackal?

It dosen’t have two fuel tanks…one is for the DEF fluid that the new diesels require…would not be that hard to modify the side of the box for the fluid filler and changing the shoreline plug location is no big deal.

I don’t believe it’s two fuel tanks. It’s probably the DEF tank that all newer diesels have to comply with EPA requirements.

Hello, all i don’t think it’s a rebuilt rig/box. none of the cfd ambo’s have two fuel tanks. also the auto-charger is in a different spot.

Martin, you shouldn’t be so harsh. He was just asking a question…that is what this blog is for. Bob never demanded the admins update it!

Bob how about you take care of it? The people who submit images don’t have all the time in the world, help out a little.

they do have a hand full of 450 chassis on the road already. the 350 is just not heavy duty enough to handle our streets and our running all day. they should have stuck w/ the 450.

Glenview’s new ambulance 6 has been sitting in quarters for over a month now. Any idea when it’s info or pics will be updated on the site here?

This has taken about a year to get redone. There have been a number of accidents so I’m not sure who’s box this was until we can get the Braun number. They more than likely will give it a new C number.

I know cost is a factor, but wouldn’t a 450 or 550 be a better choice?

I don’t remember any wrecks recently unless its the one from when a van hit the ambulance months ago? Anyone know who’s ambulance and what accident it was?
