This from Martin Nowak:
Roberts Park looking to re-chassis Ambulance 3R, which is a 2008 Ford F-450/Osage. This is not the first ambulance re-chassis for the district. The first was Ambulance 31 (2010 Ford E-450 Osage/2002 Medtec), it has a 2002 Medtec box that came off a 2002 Ford E-450 (Former A307). If 3R gets a new chassis, it will replace Ambulance 32 (2009 Ford E-450/Osage) which will become Ambulance 3R.
“Ambulance 3R, came back after extensive engine repairs. After being in service for about 3 days, it broke down in front of the station and had to be towed back to Hawk Ford. The problem appears to be in the fuel system. Repairs are estimated at$900.00. In the coming fiscal year, Chief Ketchen plans to explore the feasibility of replacing the chassis. The ambulance box can be updated and remounted on a new chassis which saves approximately half the cost of an entirely new ambulance.”
