In many local papers (ones that still exist), there is often a police/fire section. It’s newsworthy. Seeing the men and women who serve our fire departments is also a sense of pride.
Quite frankly, I still marvel in the fact that if a house is on fire or my mother should take a fall, one call to 911 will bring resources to help. Chances are, the firefighters and paramedics are total strangers who will stop at next to nothing to help save a life or see that a house doesn’t burn down.
Capturing these moments is nothing short of amazing to see.

Taking photos of fires is no different than capturing other newsworthy events, natural disasters, etc. All photographers who submit to sites such as this have a great amount of respect for the people in the fire service and also for the victims of the fires. Not to mention many photographers are firefighters themselves…

Wow your blog is stunning. You chase after fire around your area to take photos of it. It’s a bit odd that you capture other people’s unlucky events. I hope you help the firemen also after you take the photos.
