There is an article on the NBC Chicago website with images of a Calumet City Fire Department engine that fell into a sinkhole on
The truck was returning from responding to a wire down at 465 Sibley Blvd. in Calumet City, according to Assistant Chief Donte Zorzi.
No wires were found down and the truck turned at Buffalo Avenue when the two rear tires fell into the sink hole, Zorzi said.

The Medtec Ambulance production was moved from Goshen, IN to Bradenton, FL last year.
Today, news comes that the Medtec Ambulance operation will be shutdown.

The Northwest Herald published the following:
Fire departments in Joliet and Waukegan will share more than $3.5 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency grant money to hire more firefighters.
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin announced the funding on Wednesday.
The money comes from a Department of Homeland Security program that is meant to help pay for maintaining 24-hour staffing at fire departments. The Joliet Fire Department will receive about $2 million and the Waukegan Fire Department will receive more than $1.5 million.
The federal program, called SAFER, will award about $380 million in funding for the fiscal year 2011
