Scott Peterson sent images of the MABAS Division 2 TRT unit. The only data we know is that it was built by KME.
We would welcome the specs, previous owning department, and current station assignment to accompany these images.

Several readers have submitted comments that inform us that the unit is stationed in Elgin.
Bill Friedrich tells us that the unit is:
MABAS DIVISION 2 @ ELGIN, runs out of Elgin Station 1. It is a 2003 KME Renegade, GSO 5304

Elgin Fire Department:
The squad was purchased new and built using a custom spec designed by the Division TRT. I don’t remember the specific year it was purchased but I think it was 2002.

TWO STORIES: Some members present thought the apparatus was bought used from the East Coast. Others say new via donations from all the companies listed on the drivers side panel. I’ll try and get the info from in the cab next time I can get to the rig.

I went on ELGIN IL fire department website and the unit is out of ELGIN IL. It’s part of division 2 mabas and will respond to ten area departments if needed for trt calls.

I believe Div. 2 bought the vehicle new. Division 2 has owned this vehilce for more than a few years.

I’m not positive, but believe Elgin houses this rig.
