Previously we mentioned HERE, the international firefighting support that assisted the State of Israel with the deadly wildfires. At the time, the Evergreen 747 Super Tanker was en-route to provide assistance. We missed a blog entry showing this massive aircraft in action, flying low over buildings to drop up to 21,000 gallons of retardant. Check HERE to see images of this incredible tool at work and read about it’s use on this fire.

The Kane County Chronicle ran an article yesterday about the new Fox River and Countryside Fire Rescue Department which can be found HERE. It discusses much of the preliminary planning about the staffing levels and apparatus as well as come of the concerns which prompted the creation of a new department.
Thanks to Dennis McGuire, Jr. for spotting the article.
