Crab, they tried the single quint thing. I wouldn’t call it a success. There would not ever be discussion about a single screw/tag axle combination. That said up would never hold up to the rigors and the weight of a tower ladder. Motor coach/bus can get away with it as they’re not that heavy.

Hey at least it has more than just one axle. I wonder if they ever thought to put just a tag axle to handle the extra weight like what they would on an over the road bus like a J4500 for example.
