  engine 43 got the Rig slated for engine 92 rather abruptly as the decision for the change was made at fleet and changed over from one to the other in less then 48 hrs.

  Sebastian you are correct that Engine 92 has been using Engine 125’s 2004 Spartan/Crimson rig. Engine 102 has been using Engine 73’s 2004 Spartan/Crimson. The same can be said for Engine 43 which has been using Engine 71’s 2001 Spartan/Crimson.

  Chuck I agree with you about the about the POS spares circulating around the city and that rigs are too often assigned for political reasons, however if the CFD is interested in the giving the mayor a new rig for her house they are going to have to reassign it a third time because she lives in Engine 91’s still district. If the fire department is interested in scoring points with the mayor, they gave the rig to the wrong company in Logan Square. Engine 43 has been using Engine 71’s former 2001 Spartan as a regular rig during the last year.

  If the pattern continues, these will replace the 2001 and 2002 engines. I believe engine 43’s regular rig is a 2001. I know engine 127 is a 2001.

  Well, of COURSE Engine 43 got a new apparatus. Can’t have our Mayor protected by some piece of shit spare, like good portions of the rest of the City.

  I checked the shop numbers and I found the one for engine 92 (D677 I believe) and it says that E92 was lettered but never assigned. The engines second assignment was E43. So engine 92’s new rig is actually engine 43 now.

  Really nice photo! Glad they were able to line them up in front of the Field Museum. What happened to Engine 92? I don’t see it in the photo?
