This engine is quite different from the Spartan/Crimson and the Rosenbauer. Flat roof and side mount pump. In my opinion this is the best rig South Elgin has purchased in more than 20 years. I think they will be very happy with it.

Great point with that. I was talking about the sales end of it only.

The dealer might be important if you don’t have in house shops. No one wants to drive from South Elgin to down by St. Louis every time there’s a maintenance issue.

Not every department is loyal to one builder or another. Some will just want one that will work as prescribed after spending gobs of money and not get jerked around with warranty issues. With the internet, who cares where the dealer is located or even have one at all?

Did South Elgin opt for the E-One because they aren’t happy with the Spartan/Crimsons, and Rosenbauer or because the Rosenbauer dealership in the Chicagoland area closed? This leaves South Elgin with some diversity with their rigs. I believe they still have a 90’s Seagrave, Pierce Lance, Spartan/Crimson engine and tower, and a Rosenbauer engine.
