I believe with the delivery of this new engine, they will have two reserve engines, one 2009 and one 2006. The 2006 is the Enforcer. Who knows if they put the 2009 in service as Engine 13 that would leave them with still two reserve engines, the two 2006 Enforcers.

At this time the current E8 will go into reserve status. E8 and T14 are the primary extrication response units. Glenview runs 2 standard engines E7, E13 and 2 rescue engines E6 and E8 and one of each in reserve. E8 also carries some basic Hazmat equipment, E6 carries a majority of the departments TRT equipment and approximately 25 additional spare SCBA bottles. T14 carries the remaining TRT equipment. The new E8 will be outfitted with Hurst edraulic tools. E13 will most likely get the next new engine. The reserve T14/T29 is scheduled to go to Pierce for a minor refurb at the end of June.

Does anybody know what the new apparatus assignments will be for Glenview now? Will the “old” 2009 engine 8 become the new engine 13, & the old engine 13 go into reserve? I think they have several reserve units..

I second the beautiful part.
Hard to tell but maybe the step is a bit higher for some reason.

It certainly is a beauty! Who knows maybe the 2009 former engine 8 may still become Engine 13? The current Engine 13 I believe is a 2006 Pierce Enforcer. Is it me or does it only have the high side coffin compartments on the drivers side of the engine?

Is it me or does it look like it sits higher than most Pierce’s?

What a beauty! I would have assumed the older 2009 now-former engine 8 would slide over across town & become the new engine 13…? I believe the current engine 13 is an even older model than the 2009 former engine 8…
