It’s an engine, but with a rescue style body. It does carry some rescue tools, but not a full compliment. Cross lays are built into it back at the pump panel.
Minimum manning has 5 at Station 25, 6 (5 plus the BC) at 26, and 3 at 27. If there are any extra people, they get added to 27 until that hits five and then they start going else where, but that doesn’t usually happen but a couple of times a year.
If 27 is staffed with 3 which it is most of the time it runs as a jump company. All three run on the ambulance. The ambulance is only used in town after the other 2 have been used.

Andy, is the new engine a pumper/squad or a straight engine? That rear cabinet is pretty deep and the side role up doors are large. I also noticed that the hose bed is pretty high which seems to be similar to Wheeling’s. Will there also be crosslays built into the front of the body for the 1 3/4″ lines?
How many people normally run out of each station? Does the utility still run EMS in place of the tower or is that only occasionally? Is Quint 27 always a jump company with Ambulance 27? Does that ambulance then run with three?
Thanks

I fought hard for the 888. They wouldn’t do it.

Love those Hi-Viz brow lights. Really cool. If only it had a Mars 888 on the nose.
