Yeah Glenview’s rigs–with classic red & black paint, attractive lettering & logos, & lighting–is, perfection.

I hope that they don’t use the new station as an excuse toclose down Engine 13’s relatively new station once the new station 6 opens up as the new station 6 is going to be somewhat closer to Station 13 then it had been previously. I know that the new station is being built on City owned land however from a Station distribution and coverage point of view it may have made more sense to build the new station south of Glenview rd and Waukegan rd as opposed to north of Glenview rd and Waukegan rd.
I agree with Fred that Glenview as the classiest looking rigs the Chicago area (at least the north suburban area) and they really do stand out.

I was a firefighter there when the police station was next to the fire department on Pine St. & Glenview Road. That station was torn down and a new fire station was built around the old one and the PD. The PD was moved to Waukegan Road and now it is being torn down to make way for the new fire station that takes the place of the one on Glenview Road and Pine (Pine St is no longer there as it was turned into a mall area which also is torn down. Sound confusing? No, it’s called progress is Glenview; I still rather have tradition.

Hopefully it will be a nice house, to house–in my opinion–by far the nicest looking rigs in Chicagoland.
