Oops, TL21 was in spare E264, not G482, obviously. Duh – my bad.

Which company was running in E264, also does anyone have a full rundown of companies on scene?

Heard on the scanner 3/10 that TL21 was requesting a fleet mechanic to 2917 W Irving. The company was released, but G482 would not go into gear. I guess all that hard use is taking it’s toll on the mighty spare.

@fmddc1: I’ve heard that the boom should be based on the Rosenbauer’s own “Stinger” boom design which they use on their ARFF rigs, so I think that Ms. Tipton could be satisfied.
Btw: When I see whats happening now after 14 yrs of using the HME Squads, I think they should seriously consider purchasing an extra pair of rigs as a dedicated spares.

Thank the good Lord for G482. The CFD squads would be in quite a fix if that rig was not around to serve as a spare for the last 11 or 12 years. I’ll bet it’s been in service at least 80% of the time for the last three years. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the city would not be ordering new squad snorkel A’s if it was not for G482. Reason being, the department would be so used to not having the snorkels around so frequently that everyone would be accustomed to, and probably willing to accept, the replacement rigs being ordered as a one piece rescue truck.
The rig should be enshrined in the hall of flame for durability and endurance. The greatest reserve rig of all time! Of course, we all know it will be sold for junk when the time comes. A couple of years ago, I was told that the fire museum (the 5218 S. Western one) had no interest in trying to obtain the rig when it finally goes. I do hope they reconsider.

David, heard they where having some kinda problem with the boom’s. Don’t forget. Ms. Tipton is watching! Don’t make it look too much like a snorkel or she’ll sue!!!!!!!!!!! Guess they are starting from scratch on the boom and taking time to build and test.

Looks almost like it was taken back in the 80s.
Anybody knows when will the new Rosenbauer Squads possibly appear?! Haven’t heard any news for a while.
