I’m just curious and it really does not matter either way. I was listening to the entire dispatch of this event but there are a few things I missed. If I am wrong, please let me know. I believe that Engine 68 was not home. If I remember correctly, a truck company that was on the street asked if they were needed and replied that they saw a lot of smoke in that direction. They were not originally on the card to respond but after they stated they could see smoke they were told to take it in. There had been no confirmation of a working fire yet so that is why I am asking if 68 was home. I would think if they were, they would have confirmed a fire much faster. None of this matters at all, I am just curious if any one has an answer.

That fire was barely a block from Engine 68 and Truck 53 and Engine 125 were straight shot east down Grand avenue to the scene. Tower Ladder 14, Truck 58 and Truck’s 35 all were about the same distance from the fire also so in terms of fire company coverage they were in pretty good shape assuming that that the companies were in quarters at the time of the run. All 5 of those stations about 2 miles or less from the fire.

Love those header shots from a few blocks away. Can be difficult to do with traffic in and around the scene, especially in the city. But they can give you a good perspective of what it looks like rolling in to some of these jobs. Well done!

They were running a spare. At the time of the request of the 2-11, command stated that Tower 14 was OOS and requested an additional tower. They must’ve resolved the problem because shortly thereafter, it could be seen with the stick up on Channel 9’s feed from Skycam. It was interesting to watch the live feed on TV and have the MFAO radio traffic on the computer at the sametime.

Also, what happened to TL 14, that it went OOS. Is it their regular rig or are/were they still running a spare?
Thank you

6-7-3 was requested, I believe made the scene, but was returned at the time the 3-11 was struck. For a time it looked like they were going to have trouble getting a knock on it, but once Tower 23 was setup in the lot to the east, it made a big difference.

Supposedly they put out a Special for 6-7-3. Anyone know if it ever made it there, or was actually deployed?
