The Chicago Tribune reported the following about a 2-11 Alarm fire this morning:
Nearly 100 Chicago firefighters this morning battled an extra-alarm blaze on the city’s West Side that jumped from a Chinese restaurant to two storefronts with second-floor apartments, officials said.
No injuries were reported in the 2-11 alarm fire that appeared to have started in the one-story restaurant near the intersection of Cicero Avenue and Harrison Street in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The blaze, fueled by tar on the roof of the restaurant, then traveled to two buildings on either side, said Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado.
The fire broke out about 3 a.m. and spread quickly despite a steady rainfall. It was finally brought under control about 5:45 a.m. Fire officials said the fire was fueled by tar on the roof of the restaurant. As many as 99 firefighters were on the scene.

Truck 9 received a new crimson ladder at engine 11’s house. It replaced the seagrave ladder that was housed there!!!!
And isn’t engine 9 or 10 slated to be replaced with a new crimson?

They are using spares, because the Pierce ladders and the engines, are falling apart, faster than the fleet can fix them.
