The Alsip Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2012 Seagrave Marauder II engine. When training and equipment installation is complete, Engine 2063 will go into service at Station 1 on Pulaski, and Engine 2023 will go into reserve status at Station 2. The 1986 Spartan/Grumman/TeleSqurt (Engine 2053) will be decommissioned and heading off to begin a second life in Ecuador. Alsip now has three engines and a truck from Seagrave, making them one of the only all-Seagrave departments in the area.

Engine 2063 is on a 2012 Seagrave Marauder II chassis. It has a 2,000-GPM pump with 750 gallons of water and 40 gallons of foam. Larry Shapiro photo
This is the first engine for Alsip with roll-up doors and 2,000-GPM pump. The new unit has a painted steel bumper with is covered with chevron striping, has a zolatone pump panel instead of brushed stainless steel, and it is the first Alsip unit with the shorter ‘barrier-style’ doors.

Alsip Engine 2033 was built in 2007 by Seagrave on a Marauder I chassis during their 150th anniversary year. This unit is similar in many ways to the newer unit, though this has a 1,500-GPM pump. Larry Shapiro photo

A new tag on the pump panel is a welcome addition for all fire apparatus enthusiasts and historians as it lists the capacities for all of the fire suppression agents. Larry Shapiro photo
