The Wilmington Fire Protection District announced the opening of their new Fire Station #1 at 201 N. Kankakee St. The administrative and on-duty staff have moved in.
The station and property pay homage to the Booth Central School that once stood on the site. They believe the new station is a reflection of the pride they have in serving the community and appreciate the long-standing support of residents.
Arrangements for an open house next month are forthcoming.
