The pages representing the Fox River Grove Fire Protection District in MABAS Division 5 have been updated to include their newest ambulance, the Dive Rescue Unit, and an updated image of their station.
Most if not all of the ambulances in McHenry County carry a unit number which designates the department, and the specific unit number. This generally means that the unit number itself won’t be very high since few departments have more than three stations. This newest ambulance though for Fox River Grove carries a unique number with a special meaning. The number 657 which is adorned with a halo and the wings of an angel, is dedicated to the seven children (Jeffrey J. Clark, Susanna Guzman, Michael B. Hoffman, Stephanie Fulham, Joseph A. Kalte, Shawn P. Robinson and Tiffany Schneider) who tragically lost their lives when a school bus was hit by a commuter train at the rail crossing half a block from the fire station in 1995.
