Peoria FD Engine 3 was while responding to a call around 9:50 a.m. Monday when the engine was hit by a vehicle in the intersection of South Western Avenue and West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Peotone Squad 14 was hit while working an accident scene Saturday night on I-57. The squad sustained some significant damage to the officer’s side rear corner and will be out of service for several weeks while repairs are made. This is a great reminder for all to slow down and move out of the way of emergency and maintenance vehicles on the roadways and also for firefighters to protect their scenes.
