****REQUEST FOR SEALED BID FOR PURCHASE OF SURPLUS WATER TENDER****

You are hereby invited to submit a sealed bid proposal for the purchase of a surplus water tender. This 1998 International chassis was purchased new by the Lemont Fire Protection District. The stainless-steel water tank was from the previous 1986 water tender and remounted to the current chassis in 1998. It has been in service its entire life and is being replaced by a new water tender. This tender is in excellent condition with 29,950 miles and 3,520 engine hours. This water tender has been regularly maintained by an in-house mechanic. The fire pump was replaced in 2017. Graphics representing the Lemont Fire District will be removed prior to sale. Any equipment will be removed prior to sale. All service records will be given to the buyer.

• Bids will not be accepted via fax, email, phone or text.

• Bids will be accepted until 09:00 a.m. on Friday June 9, 2023 

• Sealed bids will be opened at 09:00 a.m. on Friday June 9, 2023, at: Lemont Fire Protection District, 15900 New Avenue, Lemont, IL 60439. 

 

• The water tender may be viewed by appointment only at the Lemont Fire Station, 15900 New Avenue, Lemont, IL 60439. Interested parties should contact Deputy Chief Matt Peksa at (708) 243-7652 or mpeksa@lemontfire.com

• Minimum bids shall be no less than $30,000.

• The District will award the bid to the highest bidder.

• Bidders are required to contain an email address and phone number, as notice of award will be issued promptly. If the bidder does not have an email address, a contact phone number will be sufficient.

• Payment in full must be received no later than ten (10) business days from the date of Notice of Award or bid will be forfeited.

• Payment will be accepted only via ACH deposit, cash or certified check made payable to the Lemont Fire Protection District. 

• The water tender must be removed from the premises within five (5) business days from the date of payment. 

• Once payment is made, the sale is final, as, where is, and no refund or return will be allowed. 

 

The Lemont Fire Protection District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the district.
