Excerpts from the ChicagoTribune.com:
A 32-year-old Chicago man died Saturday morning when the SUV he was riding in crashed into a Markham firetruck on Interstate 57. Police said the firetruck was parked on the interstate near Kedzie Avenue and was partially blocking the left southbound lane when the SUV rear-ended the truck about 3 a.m.
Both the driver and the passenger in the SUV were transported to a hospital in critical condition, and the passenger eventually died. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the passenger as Andrew Lee, 32, of the 1000 block of East 132nd St., Chicago.
A Markham firefighter also sustained minor injuries from the crash.
