Elected officials, members of the department, staff, residents, and even a few future firefighters, gathered to celebrate the arrival of Engine 1711 today at Fire Station 1.
We are grateful to House Leader Jim Durkin, who supported our efforts to secure grant funds for the purchase of this new fire apparatus.
thanks Danny

Grant funds for an affluent suburb that has enough money that they can build a second firehouse for the sole purpose of using it for storage of spare rigs and their antique parade apparatus? Somethings wrong here. Somebody successfully played the game. Good for them, but bad for taxpayers in the long run.

They have three engines, one truck, and two ambulances, in addition to a number of staff cars and antique pieces. Their south substation has two engines, the rest of the apparatus is at their original station. I’m not sure which two will be at the south station with the addition of this new engine.
Additionally, all of the previous answers are correct in regards to hospital destinations. They’ll occasionally transport to Loyola, as well.

LaGrange or Hinsdale would be the closest, probably depends on the part of town…I’ve seen them bring traumas to Good Sam.

Nice looking rig! I am sure they are glad to have a new piece of equipment! How many engines do they have? I am guessing two frontline and two reserve. Which Hospital do they transport too usually?
