This from Mike Summa:
Hello,Here is a photo that I took in the early 1990s at a parade in Beecher, Illinois. The cab is a Spartan on an ALF chassis. The sign on the roof says, “Pioneer ’90 Series.” 1250 GPM top mount. The bumper sign reads, “ALF Factory Service Center University Park.” The destination of this is anybody’s guess. Hope you enjoy,Mike S.

How things have changed where you almost never see a cab like this anymore. These days the 4 door completely enclosed cab is standard and only a certain few get the 2 door cab mostly for rescue bodies where the whole thing would be enclosed anyway.

Nice and not lacking shine.
People often forget that ALF built lower cost custom apparatus on their own chassis or others such as this one on a SPARTAN. They understood that there needed to be a choice between a commercial chassis and the premium custom.
