  Joliet is paying $382,439 for each ambulance.

  Martin you are correct. Two ambulances were approved in the 2024 budget. As part of the apparatus replacement plan two more ambulances were planned for 2025 and two more in 2026. Because it takes so long to get them built, they ordered all four to stay on their replacement schedule and will save money with locked in price per unit. The city doesn’t pay for them until 2027. This info from the City of Joliet meeting agenda packet.

  Martin that would be a little better as 6 would mean 250,000 a unit vs. 375,000 a unit if they only ordered 4

  It’s confusing but they may have ordered in total 6 ambulances. The reason I say this, there’s a line below this for two ambulances.
