Harry they don’t want the sutphen. And they still would have had to keep Pierce parts for the spares they have. The E-one had a lot of suspension issues due to the air bag suspension, so I am told.

i am surprised they just did not go with a sutphen tower that would have made a lot more sense. then there would be 2 brands to stock parts with sutphen and and ihc

If I remember correctly, this truck was purchased after the fire district was tired of the issues with Pierce. Unfortunately, this truck hasn’t proven to be a very good truck either. The point I’ll make is that changing brands of apparatus doesn’t make one better than the other.

Ok so I guess they are going to run the 2005 engine until their new Pierce tower ladder is delivered. I hope they were able to make a deal with MacQueen for a stock truck. I believe Evanston’s tower 22 was already scheduled to be built as a stock truck, Evanston just modified it. They ordered the new tower last year, hopefully they won’t have to wait another 3 years for it to be delivered. Hopefully the Quantum will hold up. Does anyone know what issues they have been having with this rig?
