The only way the Snorkel will work for Hinsdale is if they become very aggressive with “beaching” it. Hinsdale, by code, has insane setbacks on almost all of their residential properties. So, if they actually take advantage of that and get the apparatus on the lawn/down the driveway and past the typically tree-lined curbside it *COULD* be rather useful. But, not knocking any firefighters in particular, it’s hard to be proficient and fast/forward thinking with apparatus placement when you have, what, one first due fire per year?

I thought Pierce discontinued the allsteer is it that the rear wheels are just single tires?

Like Lemmings to the cliff side so goes Clarendon Hills to the black over red scheme. Creative. I’ll miss the chrome yellow and white. I agree with Mike m about the 55 ft Snorkel. It will be useless at a lot mot locations then just the hospital. No horizontal reach. Its not Chicago with 10 foot setbacks and vacant lots all over the place. Hope I’m wrong, as the Chief is a good guy.

Clarendon hills. Should go away! They do nothing but waste money! Had to have new squad and gone. Their truck and engine. Their was nothing wrong with them!!! Yes old but in perfect condition!!!! Piss poor management!!!!! For a part time department!!!! Tri-state or Westmont should take them other and the whole area!!!!!

Remember the campaign to save Ladder 86 back in 2021? This is what the community wanted. At least they sold the squad. Talk about a redundant purchase.
The new Engine 86 was built as a rescue-pumper so they would have room for stuff from the squad. I know they did build engine 86 so it could take a light tower. I wonder if they put the light tower from the squad on the engine?
I still think Oak Brook, Hinsdale Clarendon Hills need to find a way to work together to better share resources.
I think a straight stick can access buildings that are sent back better than a snorkel. Talk about a waste of money. I think Hinsdale will end up regretting purchasing a snorkel.
If there was a fire at Hinsdale Hospital, Ladder 86 I am sure would respond. I think ladder 86 would be more effective at a fire at Hinsdale Hospital than Hinsdale snorkel would be.
At least ladder 86 and Westmont Tower 183 and Tei State 122 would have to make rescues in a Hinsdale Hospital fire scenario once Hinsdale snorkel is in service.

LOL. These guys just can’t do anything right.. I’m sure the taxpayers are happy about this unneeded purchase.
