Car crash at the Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge, 11-11-24

The Norwood Park Fire Department and the Norridge Police Department responded to the Harlem Irving Plaza in the 4000 block of Octavia around 12:28 p.m Monday afternoon when a person drove off the parking garage roof after the driver crashed through the garage’s guardrail.

The car landed upside down. It took firefighters roughly 30 minutes to free the driver who was then taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

  The driver was an elderly woman. May have mistaken gas for breaks. We may find out soon.

  Thank the Lord this could have been so much worse. How much would you bet that this person was looking at their mobile device rather than concentrating on driving?
