This engine has been on order for about a year, year and a half. They also have a new tanker on order with Pierce. I believe the plan is to go down to one tanker.

Sebastian their Pumper/Squad is currently 7 years old and is scheduled to be replaced in 2025. The last I had heard they also ran with 2 tankers and I am not aware if they have Reserve Engine anymore. Assuming that they don’t have a reserve Engine then their current E/One would probably become the reserve rig. I assume that if they need to use a spare rig that they would probably borrow one from Buffalo Grove. I know that Buffalo Grove Quint 27 responds into Long Grove as a Truck company. About 10 to 15 years ago used the have an E/One Quint which was a reserve rig but that is Long Gone. I understand that they are working on building a new fire station to be open in 2026. The way their Fire Protection District is laid out the Northern Part of it is covered by the Country Side(Vernon Hills) fire protection district and possibly Mundelein and Lake Zurich. It extends pretty far into Lake County.
I am curious how they run with their tankers. Do they take the manpower off of the Ambulance or do they take the Pumper/Squad out of service? Or do they use their paid on call members for them? A good part of the district is dry according to my understanding.

How are they able to get around the 4 year wait time? Was this going to be built as a stock unit that Long Grove claimed?
